HostMonitor does not collect, transmit, or share any personal data. All information stays on your device.
Overview
HostMonitor ("the App") is a network monitoring utility for Windows. This Privacy Policy describes how the App handles information. The short version: it doesn't collect any.
Data We Do NOT Collect
The App does not collect, store remotely, or transmit any of the following:
- Personal identification information
- Usage analytics or telemetry
- Crash reports to external servers
- The hostnames, IP addresses, or credentials you configure
- Network probe results or scan history
Data Stored Locally
The App stores the following data exclusively on your local device, in a SQLite database file in your user profile:
- The list of hosts and services you add
- Historical scan results (status, latency, timestamps)
- Application preferences (theme, language, scan period, alarm settings)
This data never leaves your machine. You can delete it at any time by uninstalling the App or removing the database file from your profile directory.
Network Access
The App makes outbound network connections solely for the purpose of probing the hosts you explicitly configure. It does not make any connections to the developer's servers, third-party analytics services, or any external service beyond those you set up yourself.
No Accounts or Sign-In
HostMonitor requires no account, email address, or sign-in of any kind. There is no user authentication whatsoever.
Windows Store
The App is distributed through the Microsoft Store. Microsoft may collect diagnostic and usage data as part of the Store platform under their own Privacy Policy. This is outside the App developer's control.
Children
The App is a general-purpose network utility not directed at children. It does not knowingly collect information from anyone.
Changes to This Policy
If this policy is updated, the new version will be posted at this URL with a revised "Last updated" date. Continued use of the App after any changes constitutes acceptance of the new policy.
